About Me
Mission
To provide individual support for students who need it, enabling them to be successful in their academic goals.
Vision
A world in which students are successful on their own terms, valued as individuals, their creativity and innate curiosity are sparked, and they can articulate and meet goals that are important to them.
Values
- I meet students where they are, so we can work together on what they need.
- I support students in organization, planning, logistics, and individual assignments.
- I help students follow lines of inquiry and encourage them to pursue learning for its own sake.
- I believe in the potential of every student.

Libby is a full-time teacher and tutor working with students aged 7 and up around the East Bay.
A Bay Area local, Libby graduated from Berkeley High School and went on to earn a BA in Liberal Arts from St. John’s College, Santa Fe, in 2006. St. John’s requires all students to read the “Great Books,” a selection of mathematical, scientific, philosophical, and literary texts from European history. As such, Libby studied math and philosophy/literature for four years, two foreign languages, science, and music; she frequently draws on this background in her tutoring.
In both high school and college, Libby was a peer tutor for other students in math and English. She has been tutoring professionally since 2010 and has been a full-time academic teacher at Holden High School in Orinda since 2017. Libby has worked with students ranging from kindergarten to community college, in math, English, Spanish, and history.
Libby has also completed an MFA program at Exeter University (UK) in the field of Staging Shakespeare. She also has a California Teaching Credential in the subject of mathematics.
